this is a very nice winery, i enjoyed talking to the pourers and the wine makers as well as the new guy who gave us the winery tour. the atmosphere is casual and inviting. had barrel tastings which are fun and their orange muscat paired with the lemon pound cake was awesome. Visited 12/2/07.

I've been to Bargetto before, but it's been a while. I forgot how much I liked this winery. I took some friends around to taste at some of my favorite wineries in Soquel. This was our first stop on the trip. It was a beautiful, warm day - perfect for tasting outside on Bargetto's giant patio. They have a huge bar that could easily fit 20 people. In fact, it did. A party bus showed up while we were there carrying at least 20 party-seeking people. The staff didn't flinch. We got lots of attention, we had some laughs and barely noticed the loud group of party-goers. We even got a private tour of the facilities and some barrel samples. All-in-all, it was a great experience. The wine was great too (didn't want to leave that out). Even if the weather is not so great, there is a large tasting area inside. Visited Nov 17, 2007.

Visited this winery on passport weekend, the wine tasting room has a nice wine tasting bar and wine store. You can also sit outside, sip your wine and enjoy the outdoors. I was a little disappointed in the wines that they were tasting at the event. I am one that will not buy unless I can taste. For passport the tasting is free. Not sure if they charge.

Bargetto's tasting room is long and narrow. During Passport days it gets pretty crowded, so it's hard to get a spot to taste. Luckily, Bargetto also has an outdoor tasting room that can be used in the summer. The wine selection is pretty good, and the staff is helpful and polite. I would consider Bargetto to be a Soquel landmark winery, so I would recommend visiting it, if you're in the area.
